Huge Backlog of I-601A Cases at USCIS - The Numbers. I601A
This table in the link below was recently published, and it shows the full backlog of cases being processed by USCIS. If you look at the row for I-601A cases, in the 1st quarter of 2023 (January 1 - March 31), 7,604 new I-601A applications were received. Only 1,572 cases were decided during that time. 1,304 were approved and 268 were denied. At that time, there were still a total of 127,694 backlogged I-601A cases waiting processing from then and past years, and many more applications were coming in each month than USCIS was processing. The average processing time as of March 31 was 34.3 months. This is the time it took to complete 50% of all the cases processed in the quarter.

601a is the sacrificial lamb of immigration , not a priority for this administration, they process parole faster than any other immigration petition, hope it gets better

during Covid time i130 was over 2 years proces time , now I personally I se my coworker got aproved less than a year on i130! Unfortunately it’s not the case with i601a 🤬

@ billy bob to wait 3 years for a petition to be approved or denied is just effing long , this is not an asylum case , I won't mind a new administration at this point in time. just imagine getting denied and having to file again , it's a tough one

my case updated to( case was transferred to another office) 5 days ago , I did i601a mandamus exactly 4 months ago ! does anyone know what does that mean ? is it good thing???

hello, same boat here. my case got transferred to a new office 18 days ago. trying to understand what’s going on. talked to my attorney and she said it could be a good thing as the letter says the reason was to speed up the process.
