How soon before EAD is issued?
I'm a registered nurse and adjusting to EB3 from F1. My service center is TSC. I have heard so many bad news about TSC, how sluggishly they are processing visas now. However, my process seems to be moving fast sorta.. My priority date is February 10. I received the receipt notices for advanced parole, green card, and EAD on February 17. They were all filed concurrently with the I-140. My Biometrics appointment letter was sent out on February 26 and I received it on March 5th. I had my biometrics on March 21 and my case was updated 6 hours after that to show fingerprints and photo were taken. Now, I'm wondering if this is how fast TSC is moving for everyone. Should I expect to receive an update on my EAD card anytime soon? I appreciate any reply. Thank you all!

EAD at TSC is 14-18 months

Tou shouldn’t have filed concurrently. You’d have done i140 premium and get approval in 2 weeks then i485 goes to NBC which will be approved very fast. Texas service center is dysfunctional. They have a backlog of cases pending since 2020.

I wanted that but my employer said they file concurrently.

I’m in the same boat, Registered nurse adjusting to eb3 from F1.. TSC received my cases in Feb 08 2021.. all filled concurrently, bio done last year.. still no EAD.. thou, I’m currently working with OPT.. so I plan to expedite my EAD a month before my opt expires which is next month. TSC is too slow tbh.

most of the employers will not do the premium I-140 because they really don’t like you to get your GC before you complete your contract with them. so they love to go for the regular option because it’s slow

You are absolutely right and that's sad!

@ Yna C. Did you submit your application with all the necessary documents: CGFNS, medical, all your I-20s, I-94s, visas, past EADs, I-797C, passport, etc? I believe it helps when they have all the documents from the get-go.

@ brown I am also adjusting to EB3 from F1 as a registered nurse and I also have EAD from my OPT but my f1 EAD is not related to nursing. did you maintained your non-immigration status after filling for I-485?

@ qwerty ss I have been in school till May 14th. However, I don't plan to continue if my green card isn't approved before the Fall semester starts.
