After 3days I received my welcome letter but my sister case have been approved since 105 days no welcome letter they don’t even sent her case to the nvc
kay leenMar 18, 2025
@waseela TR i think your sister should contact the uscis cause the average time is 2-6 weeks though i saw a lot of people only wait for 3-7 days
Smuley geeMar 18, 2025
@kay leen If you haven’t received the welcome letter, you may have made a mistake. Verify your case online and check the approval letter to see if they are asking you to submit Form I-824.
kay leenMar 18, 2025
@Smuley gee it says in the approval letter to file i-824 but i thought people automatically got their case transferred to the nvc without i-824
Smuley geeMar 19, 2025
@kay leen Because you forgot to specify the country where you want to be interviewed or if you want to do a status adjustment or consular processing.
Smuley geeMar 19, 2025
@kay leen you case will delay for 6 to 12 more months i also made this mistake
kay leenMar 19, 2025
@Smuley gee are you sure, every approval letter mentioned i824 and i485 but that doesn't mean we need them + im still in my normal time range, i know that most people got their case transferred to nvc in 3-7 days, but the normal time range is 2-6 weeks, how are you so sure that i need to file i824
Smuley geeMar 20, 2025
@kay leen I don’t know, that’s why I said you should check if your approval letter mentions that you need to send the I-824 form. I made a mistake—I didn’t specify the location where I should be interviewed. They asked me to send the I-824 form, and after 4 months, it was approved, and my case was transferred to the Department of State.
Smuley geeMar 20, 2025
@kay leen They will tell you that your case is approved, and they will ask you to send the form. They will also provide the address to send it to. If you don’t see that in the letter, wait.
Smuley geeMar 20, 2025
@kay leen You didn’t specify whether you are in the U.S. for adjustment of status or outside for consular processing. That’s why they haven’t sent it to the NVC. Believe me or not, I know what I’m talking about—I went through this.
kay leenMar 21, 2025
@Smuley gee yes my approval letter do mention i-824 but the thing is my petitioner include my address (outside us) when filling my i-130
kay leenMar 21, 2025
@Smuley gee so i really should file for i-824?
kay leenMar 21, 2025
@Smuley gee can u give me your email, im gonna send you my approval notice so you can check
Smuley geeMar 21, 2025

Smuley geeMar 21, 2025

kay leenMar 21, 2025
