How long to receive passport after immigrant visa approval?#I-130 IR1 visa
Hello everyone,
I had my immigrant visa interview on February 24, 2026, and I received the approval letter at the interview. However, my CEAC portal status has not been updated yet, and I have not received any email or passport tracking information.
I selected the Blue Dart pickup location in Jamshedpur.
Could anyone please share how long it usually takes to receive the passport after approval and when the CEAC status typically updates?

For an IR1 immigrant visa after an I-130 approval handled by the U.S. Department of State, most applicants in India receive their passport with the visa within about 5 to 10 business days after the interview approval. It is common for CEAC to stay on “Ready” or “Administrative Processing” for a few days before updating to “Issued,” so a short delay after a February 24 interview is normal.
Once the status changes to “Issued,” the passport is usually handed to Blue Dart within a couple of business days and then sent to your selected pickup location, such as Jamshedpur. If you do not see any CEAC update or passport movement after about 7 to 10 business days, you can then contact the consulate or check with Blue Dart using your UID number for tracking.
