How long should I wait to change my employer, as my GC was approved in July’21?
Friends, I moved to the US under L1-A and filed my EB-1 with the priority date as 4/10/18. My I-485 was filed on 10/28/20. My case was approved in July’21 and received my Green Card. How long should I wait to change my employer, as I am now eligible to work under any US employer?

if it was eb1A, then basically anytime, considering you are working under same field as you applied for. If its eb1B, then atleast 6 months is advised with the same employer

so considering it was filed by company, probably you need to stay with the same company for 6 months. Its my guess, not sure!

I don't really understand somehow. no where anything is mentioned in USCIS etc pages. how come people arrive at six months ? why not ten years ? trying to understand the basis

+1 to itty kk. USCIS talks about AC21 and portability options during the process of 485 being approved, but nothing on this topic, post receiving green card.

I don’t think you will find any info about wait time after receiving gc. It is advised (not mandatory) by lawyers to wait 6 months, if you leave earlier it can impact on naturazliation after 5 years. copy/paste: “if they uscis believes that the beneficiary did not intend to remain in the sponsored position, the uscis can try to rescind the green card altogether. horwer, the uscis typically can rescind a gc only within five years of its issuance. in many cases, the uscis does not learn that a foreign national quickly moved to a new employer until the individual files an application for naturalization, which often does not occur until more than five years have elapsed since the gc was issued. this is one reason that rescission based on a job change is rare”

in many cases this will be infeasible and hard to assess.. downsizing etc etc.. if this was the case I'm not sure why AC21 exist
