How long does EAD take for a AOS petition?
It has been a month after submission. Just curious how long I should wait for EAD (765 petition) to get approved ?
I am specifically asking because I need to renew my DL and having a EAD card will get REAL ID requirements satisfied rather than showing DMV the 797 receipts or visa extensions.

Oct 10: Got my EAD within 60 days. FWIW, I was able to renew REAL ID just with i797A receipts

@Pritesh Jain @m m Thanks! looks like the EAD wait time is unpredictable.
IMHO 6+ months for EAD is simply unacceptable since this EAD is supposed to be interim benefit.

My first EAD based on AOS took ~3 months to get approved. But this was back in Nov 2022.

@S B DMV generally expect proof to be either stamped visa or EAD card. they could have issues to validate 797 approvals
