over 2 months since our interview in November. we were given the white paper and was told we should be getting something in the mail within a month. Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS since that date. nothing has changed and been radio silence ever since. this is dragging and very frustrating.

Mitchell PinskyJan 7, 2026
82 days for us. I’ve been reading on Reddit that a people have been getting approvals 140-180 days/5-7 months after their interview more recently.
Eva divaJan 7, 2026
@Green Green we submitted the application in March. interview was in November.
Eva divaJan 7, 2026
@Goodness Ok . did you file together or you filled the 130 before the 485?
Eva divaJan 7, 2026
@Guilherme Machado when did your 130 get approved?
Eva divaJan 7, 2026
@Mitchell Pinsky so you got the approval or still waiting? which office?
Eva divaJan 7, 2026
what sucks the most is we have been married for 12 years and have 2 kids together. this shouldn’t take this long. lol
Mitchell PinskyJan 7, 2026
@Eva diva we have been waiting 83 days now and for the Raleigh-Durham, NC Field Office. We were told that our case just had to be signed off by the supervisor and then it would approved that week. On the day that we were interviewed, we got the notification that our case was actively being reviewed for both I-130 and I-485 (filed together). The last update on our API was that our case was moved into supervisory review on October 30.
Eva divaJan 7, 2026
@Mitchell Pinsky oh boy. are going to send a request to wake them up? also how do you check the api?
Mitchell PinskyJan 7, 2026
@Eva diva Not yet. Check this post out for API: http://www.reddit.com/r/USCIS/comments/1hglar9/use_this_method_to_know_if_uscis_is_actually/.
Eva divaJan 7, 2026
@Mitchell Pinsky I just tried sending a request and it didn’t go through. this is what I got

@Mitchell Pinsky I do check my application that way. and it shows nothing has been touched or worked on since the sameday interview update.
Mitchell PinskyJan 7, 2026
@Eva diva They don’t allow inquiries if case is within normal processing times. I know there is a tool you can use to determine what date you can file an inquiry.
Mitchell PinskyJan 7, 2026
@Eva diva did it show anytime stamp about FTA0 or FTA1?
Eva divaJan 7, 2026
@Mitchell Pinsky
FTA1 – Action Taken (Very Important)
• Date: November 4, 2025
• This is the most recent update
FTA1 usually indicates USCIS took a formal action, such as:
• Issuing a Request for Evidence (RFE)
• Issuing a Notice of Intent to Deny (NOID)
• Or making a decision that triggers a notice
However:
• Your data shows:
• actionRequired: false
• evidenceRequests: []
• notices: []
This strongly suggests:
➡️ A notice was generated but may not yet be visible in the system, or
➡️ The action was an internal adjudication step right before approval or final decision
Mitchell PinskyJan 7, 2026
@Eva diva The fact that it was moved to FTA1 means that it’s under supervisory review for final approval/decision. Our FTA1 timestamp occurred 15 days after our interview. From what I have tell, FTA1 means it’s more not if you will get approved, but rather when you will get approved.
Eva divaJan 7, 2026
@Mitchell Pinsky I was able to send a request now. I should hear something back by Feb 5th. this will be the longest month lol.
Mitchell PinskyJan 7, 2026
@Eva diva how did you send a request that went through?
Eva divaJan 7, 2026
@Mitchell Pinsky
Here you go 👍
🌐 USCIS e-Request (Service Request) website
https://egov.uscis.gov/e-request
⸻
How to use it (quick steps)
1. Go to the link above
2. Choose “Did not receive notice by mail”
enter your info
Tip
If the form only allows one receipt number, submit it under the I-485 and mention the I-130 inside the message, That’s the better strategic choice.
