hi, my case was totally different I received my first work authorization September last year and I applied back in January 2022 and just got my vawa approved in March 2025

idk but it's a long time 13 month without work authorization I applied for i485 and i360 do you know if I can do anything about it

what is your receipt Category is it C09 or C31 also do you receive Prima facie Determination

@mohamed ayoub what’s the category on your i-797c for EAD? if it’s C31- they files your ead with pending vawa and not i-485 that’s why it’s taking long, they have to approve your vawa for you to receive the EAD. if it’s C09 call the 1-800 number let them know your EAD is outside normal processing time

yes i just checked its c31 so I need my vawa to be approved in order to get my ead ok thank you so much guys for the help and information

did you apply I-765 with your vawa? it depends if you applied C-31 or C-09 work permit if C-09 meaning you can get it after 3-4 months while waiting to your vawa approved but if it is C31 then you have to wait until your Vawa approved to get your work permit

@mohamed ayoub you can apply for another EAD this time round check C09 and include the i-797c for your i-485 to show you have a pending i-485 and it’s free to file.

the thing is in michigan if you don't have social security you can't get driver license using passport and in other states you will need an address but thank you again every body and @blessed & favored i will ask my lawyer if I can do that thank you so much

also I got prima facie determination my lawyer told me i can get ebt food using it doesn't it help with license?

@mohamed ayoub , were you married to a US Citizen or a GreenCard Holder? If you were married to a US citizen ( being your abuser), you can file for your Work Authorization ( EAD with form I-765), but if your subset is a GreenCard Holder, you have to work until your VAWA (I-360) is approved
