I submitted my application May 11. they issued my receipt May 14 under documents. I got it in the mail 5 or so days after that. it’s quick since it’s all online. @Sam D

thank you all for your comments. i need to travel in 3 weeks so I am stressed it will not make it on time. For now I only received the notice of receipt

My spouse never received the extension letter (filed Oct 2025) due to a 'technical issue', that couldn't be explained. We had to get an ADIT stamp so there was something that could be provided to confirm legal status.

@S A I think that is what happened to me. They received the application on June 1 and I still have not yet received it they said in 2 weeks. I am travelling outside of the US in 2 weeks too so I need a letter to show proof

@Sam D did you receive anything yet? my sister applied june 3 case created, she receive biometric appointments letter in mail, but not the extension letter, nothing under documents eating...

@m-Mc C same here. Nothing yet except the biometrics appt. I called them today they said it takes up to 30 days from when they receive the case

@Sam D I'd suggest you ask about getting an appointment at your local field office for an ADIT stamp. It can serve as your proof of legal status if your extension letter doesn't come in time.

@S A yes that is what I did. had the appt today and they gave me the stamp valid for a year. thank you for your help

@m-Mc C I called USCIS they said I was never going to receive it because of an error in their system. So they made me an appt to get a stamp in order to travel. i suggest you do the same

@Sam D what number did you call, how long it take for them to schedule an appointment?

@Sam D great to hear! This 'issue with the extension letter is so strange. My step-daughters both received extension letters but my spouse did not, even though all applications were mailed together. I don't understand why they can't just reproduce the receipt notice that contains the extension. At least the Adit stamp is an alternative, even if it requires a yearly renewal process. Glad you've got your documentation for your trip.

@m-Mc C - this is the number 1 (800) 375-5283 tell them I never received the extension letter and need to make an appt to have a stamp in order to be able to travel. They will them call you again from another dept to schedule the appt. keep your phone all times as they only can only call you 2 times. They called me the day after. For the appt it depends when they have available I told her I need it asap as I am travelling next week so she booked me as an emergency the next day. I did the stamp before. my biometrics appt is next Monday. Hope I have answered your question 😊

@S A - exactly, if I didn’t call I would have kept on waiting for nothing. I really appreciate it, I didn’t know I can request a stamp and its a common this for this. So thanks to you I will be able to travel next week 🙏🙏
