Hi guys
I am usa citizen and my child was recently born abroad. What are the necessary procedures to bring her with me to the United States, knowing that the father is a foreigner?

@M Salah gotcha. did any of your parents live in the USA for 5 years?
M SalahJun 24, 2024
@Green buzz yes my father lives there

ok so your child is an automatic USA citizen by birth
Green buzzJun 24, 2024
you'll need to prove your father lived in USA for 5 years, and that your American citizen and if your not married currently you'll probably need to do DNA test proving she's your child then she gets her USA passport. no need for i-130

@M Salah if you are a US, your child automatically gets US citizenship at birth. Doesn’t matter how long you/your father lived in the USA. Get in touch with the American embassy at the country where you currently live so that your kid can get their Consular Report of Birth Abroad.
