I saw one case here the guy said was denied because he answer something wrong in his interview. btw he didn’t have a lawyer.

yes they can, someone's case was denied after approval , they didn't even go for interview. they are so many reasons i-485 can be denied even though your vawa is approved

you cannot get i-130 approved through vawa did you mean i-360? and yes, they can deny it based on if you fail to show up for an interview or fail to provide RFE and they can also deny it you lie to them during the interview. that’s why it’s very important to be honest when filling out your i-485 and reviewing it before your interview.
