help/advice
I am concerned and would appreciate your guidance regarding my VAWA-based green card case.
My VAWA petition was approved in September 2024, and I had my green card interview in May 2025. Since the interview, I have not received any meaningful update from USCIS.
My Congresswoman’s office has submitted three inquiries, but USCIS has provided the same response each time, stating that my case is still undergoing background checks. My attorney also submitted an inquiry, but we have not received a response.
I have personally contacted USCIS multiple times. I also requested a Tier 2 officer callback. I was told that an officer would call me, but I never received the call.
I recently asked my attorney whether I could file a writ of mandamus because of the length of the delay, but she advised that, at this time, we should not file one.
I am becoming increasingly concerned about the delay and would like to understand what options I have at this point. What would you recommend I do next?

Mandamus won't hurt your case. I filed mine. It's $3000+but gave me relief.
