Help! Expedited request for financial hardship
so my wife is in the us and i’m in the dominican, we sumbitted our i130 on february 2nd, and i’m really concerned about her cuz she used to work full time cuz she had online college, but now she got in person college cuz she graduating in may/june, she was doing financially okay, but now it’s hard cuz she working part time due to school, she also didn’t pay rent before but now she’s gonna move out with her mom & her brother and niece are moving in with her mom cuz they gonna sell the house where they used to live & she gonna have to get a place on her own but there’s no way she can do college, work part time and pay a place by herself so if i was there it’ll be easier cuz i would help her, i have a job offer that as soon as get there and i’m legally able to work im gonna have that job & i have proof of all of that. she also got ptsd from her last high school graduation cuz her mom couldn’t go to her last graduation due to work cuz she had work, so basically she ain’t have nobody to be there for her at the graduation but her cousin, & she wants me to be there for her cuz her mom gotta work always due to financial reasons & she very afraid of that happening again, so i wanna know if that qualifies as Financial hardship and Humanitarian Reasons, we’re very concerned.

@breezy k I’m really sorry to hear that she’s going through such a tough time. Financial hardship is really difficult to prove especially as the petitioner since she’s going to need to prove financial support for you at the NVC stage otherwise you guys will need a joint sponser. You can certainly try to expedite showing the financial loss over the last couple of years as well as proof of your job offer and a well written explanation. I would definitely stick to financial hardship and leave out the bit about PTSD for graduation, that’s not a reason to expedite. Best of luck to you. If this doesn’t work the good news is that you’re over 200 days in so as long as everything is in order you may only have a few short months to go for this stage of it.

@Kristen B we have a joint sponsor, also she a letter from her job stating that she was a full time before now she a part time & that’s gonna show how low her income right now is, plus my job offer, i think it’ll work, hopefully it does

@breezy k That’s a great start! I would also include W2’s/Tax transcripts for the last couple of years proving the actual loss of income.

Definitely leave the graduation part of but late payment on rent and every single bill helps. I let some of mine get past due for 2 months so I could use it as proof. Also didn’t get medical insurance and added a hand written letter stating I can’t even see a doctor cause I’m scared of the bill I’ll get. Also she can state that you are unable yo support due to your currency exchange bring weak compared to the $ end if you were here, you can work to support her. And she can add the jobs you’ll be able yo here yo bring in income to help. Goodluck!
