no it won’t, my son passport was expired and I renewed it, no issue!

Go make another one but make sure that you have a photocopie of the old one.

go make a new one and make sure you have the original old passport not the photocopy. when ever there is a need for your passport send both copies together and indicate the issue of expiration.
