My father was diagnosed with an illness that requires him to return to his previous doctor which is in India and I have to travel with him as his caretaker. So I provided a letter from my fathers doctor. praying it’ll be enough.

thank you guys. my only fear is they are gonna come back and be like you have an Advance Parole. The problem with that is there’s no guarantee I’ll be admitted back in the country. hope they’ll understand that risk.

what is the point of AP if you are not allowed back? i don’t get this process at all.

It is for emergency travel. But it literally says in the AP document that there’s no guarantee that you will be admitted back into the country. So legally, they can deny entry whenever they want, and you have no right to say anything.

It’s been 6 weeks for me and nothing….

I am still waiting for my AP but it makes literally no sense

@Alabbodi and @AD: If you didn’t overstay your visa or enter here illegally, you are in no immigration proceedings and have no criminal background issues, it’s less likely they will bar you from re-entering the country. Although I did re-enter the country just 1 day before my combo card expire while my file was administratively closed at EOIR and USCIS due to immigration proceedings causing USCIS not to have jurisdiction over it. And it was on the previous administration. Some lawyers even said they wouldn’t let me in. But they did let me in. I only had to stay in customs and borders for about 45minutes for checking.

@sassy I totally ageee with you. Assuming and knowing are two different things. You can assume, but again there’s no guarantee. My brother who’s a US citizen last time coming back into the country was held and questions for literally no reason. Its a scary process to go through.

@Hamza - quick question, how did you send the supporting documents? I am trying to expedite as well and they sent me an email saying I need to submit documents, but there were no instructions on how to send. So I am wondering how to send. Did you fax or email or ??
