many factors play out but that depends on wether you got denied after an interview or before it.

You will get a letter from USCIS explaining in detail why it was denied.
that greencard is really green Jul 13, 2024
I received a denial for my application due to an honest mistake, according to USCIS. Similarly, my brother’s application was denied because he failed to prove the authenticity of his marriage. Then, my application was denied again because the USCIS officer made an error and denied me without checking if my i601 was approved. Some applications are denied because they cannot find the response or evidence, and they don't want their superiors to know that they requested the same things twice. Consequently, you pay the price instead.
Now, they are sending me a request for evidence. In the letter, they stated that I indicated that I believe I was institutionalized long-term at government expense in violation of federal anti-discrimination laws. If I believe that my long-term institutionalization at government expense violated federal law, I must submit evidence to support this claim. However, I never made that claim, and my lawyer showed me a copy of my i485 application; he never checked that. When I googled it, I found that "long-term institutionalization" refers to a person who is receiving long-term care services in a medical or nursing facility or has been screened and approved to receive Medicaid-covered Long-Term Care (LTC) services in the person's home or community setting. This definition does not apply to me.
We refiled that page. They said that I said I was in that situation and sent a copy of my food stamps history, which shows that I have never been on public assistance.
