You're definitely not alone in this. On November 28, 2025, USCIS officially announced that it has paused all final decisions on pending asylum applications. They're still accepting new applications and conducting interviews, but they are not issuing any grants or denials right now. There's no word yet on how long this pause will last. The good news is that if your work permit is tied to your pending asylum case, it remains valid and you can continue using it. Just make sure your address is up to date with USCIS and stay on top of your EAD renewal If you have any other questions, feel free to ask them in our next Lawfully office hours session! - Attorney Daniel Son (All information shared here is for general educational purposes only.
