Has anyone had to wait this long after having biometrics taken?
My husband has not even received his EAD yet, or a medical RFE. And the status has not updated yet to show biometrics were taken either, Oct. 5th last year was when the case updated again to "Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS" which was the day after he did the biometric appointment. We have not heard anything since. This wait is absolutely insane, especially when you have no idea when they will actually work on your case.
Update: My husband filed an expedite request today (7/31/23) and I will update again when we hear back about it
Update: As of today, 8/10/23, Emma still says there are no updates and we still have not received anything acknowledging the expedite request other than the number from Emma.
Update: I am not sure what to do. It is now 8/18/23 and we still have not heard anything from uscis about our expedite request. Not to request documents, no update on our case, nothing. And the congressperson I tried contacting back in May has not helped, and they've called twice about someone else's case.

I’m the same. I filed concurrently on Sep 6th 2022 and still nothing. No EAD card either.

I filed August 19, 2022 and did biometrics in September and I still haven’t received anything yet either

@K . We've seen that you need special circumstances and since we aren't using a lawyer, I was worried that could get my i864 denied - like it would show I couldnt support both of us.

@Norah A I am going to try that this week. I have seen a lot of people get mixed messages from Emma and it seemed useless but I will give it a try

@Britt A he can apply to expedite it. gather bills etc so if you expedite, you got proof

@Ade Obian No one should ever be waiting that long. This process just makes USCIS seem pretty incompetent and possibly highly understaffed

my case is similar - I can't believe we have to just accept a year of waiting with no updates!

My wife did the biometrics around 3 weeks after I-485 and it still shows it as "scheduled" on the USCIS website, BUT, she received her work permit under 6 months with the picture taken at the biometrics, which makes us think they just didn't update the case accordingly and are still "actively reviewing".
