Has anyone filed for the Advance Parole/Travel document I-131 while adjustment of status is pending?
My fiance is supposed to be coming to the states by the end of March. We plan to get legally married soon after he arrives and then will start the adjustment of status application, as well as the advance parole document, because we are scheduled to have our wedding reception out of the country in August. We need to get accepted for the travel document in order for him to enter back into the states while his adjustment of status is pending, but wanted to know if anyone has any experience with this? Any advice? #k1 #k1visa #traveldocument #fiance

Yes, that’s what most people do. If you have a pending I-485, your AP application fee will be waived. However, no one can guarantee if you will receive it before your plan to travel or not. For some it takes forever, some just sooner. You can expedite, but have a wedding oversea will not count. Even if you get approved, keep in mind it’s not a document that guarantees you being parole back into the US. It’s still up to the people at the airport to decide. Good luck!

we applied May 22, 2022 for all 3 - AP, EAD, GC/485. still pending 295 days later. he couldn’t go home for the December holidays. now he’ll miss going home fir his birthday too. I would not count on being able to have your reception out of the country.
