Green Card
Hi guys; I have a question. I am a refugee and I applied for green card a year ago. two months ago, the USCIS office requested an RFE from me because I had not sent my vaccine documents when I applied. I did the vaccination and sent the documents. they received my documents on July 31. since that date, there has been no change on my site. how long will it take for me to receive my green card? I am worried because my work permit expires next month

@Lion Lion If your green card is pending and you already got the refugee status , apply for work permit under A03 category. Because it’s not sure how long it’s going to take. It could take 1 month or could take couple of months. You don’t have to pay any fee for it , just send the copy of the receipt of the i485 notice payment and notice of i485 . So you will be on safer side . By the time your current work permit expires, you will already have the notice of new work permit. So you can continue your work.

@Lion Lion Because i travel alot through the border states and passes the border patrol couples of time every month. It’s better to have a EAD card to show the status than a green card. So you don’t have to carry green card everywhere. Just in case. That’s my suggestion to you. Just apply for EAD
