As an asylee or permanent resident based on asylum, you need to obtain a Refugee Travel Document before leaving the country. You cannot use your country’s passport anymore.
LN Asylee Feb 24, 2025
@Stampft Kleid don't scaring me, I know someone who traveled a lot with his passport and now he is a US Citizen without problem 🤔
E HopefulFeb 24, 2025
@Stampft Kleid - You are correct. Many people used to get away with using their country’s passport for years but with the new administration, LN asylee will be quickly put in deportation proceedings, because it signals not only fraud, but also the fact that you are still under the protection of his country if he continues using his passport. By the way, there is a reason why there is a refugee travel document. But idiots are always trying to game the system by trying to signal Fraudulent behavior. So why take this Risk ?

@LN Asylee you need a travel document before traveling anywhere. Why are you thinking of using your Haiti passport?. Someone posted here few days or week ago that he traveled to UK with his travel document and got a UK visa. Don’t risk it especially with this new government .
E HopefulFeb 24, 2025
@LN Asylee - Please do not try it. Just because your friend got away with it does not mean you can too. You can use it if country conditions have changed back home or if the country of persecution is no longer a threat to you. But if you want to play a dumb game. Kindly report that nonsense to CBP upon your return from Canada and see what will happen to you. The good thing is you can still get away with it, but things can be costly for you if you get caught before or when you Apply for your naturalisation. So is that really worth it to Risk your status (which can easily be revoked given this administration m) ? Be smart and apply for the re-enter permit or the refugee travel document to avoid any potential issues.

this is beyond my understanding, why you wants to use home country passport if you have travel documents option .
R JFeb 24, 2025
for Canada you don’t need passport for travel .. Green card is enough
LN Asylee Feb 24, 2025

@Racco 😈 That could be a condition to enter Canada but the travel requirement for permanent resident asylees is that you get a RTD before departing the United States which serves as passport.
