green card filing for husband
what’s your opinion for recently married green card holder trying to file for her newlywed husband for a green card. any suggestions on what to do and how to go about it

I will advice you look for an immigration lawyer near you , make and appointment with your husband for the process and guidance , yes u can equally do it on your own but my experience suggests it’s quite straightforward with an immigration attorney

i will advisw you to try for his student or work visa and then declare marriage in states and adjust status when the priority date becomes current in other case you will have to wait for around 5 years to be united again

if there has been a visa overstay then it won’t be forgiven. we need more information here.
if husband has been in status you file the 130 then wait for your priority date to be current to apply for the 485 @B.j Nurse

he has f1 status and is here in United States, so his partners wants to file for green card but f2A category says 3yrs wait

@B.j Nurse yea that’s about right. its a long wait. if you can apply for citizenship and get it it will speed up his case.
