@chah ks do you have any misdemeanors record/ speed ticket disclosure etc / or when you file your i485 but your PD is not current or final date of filing during that time.

i hope it will be fine and you could file again. do you mind sharing here the reason of denial if you can? did you get EAD/AP already?

@giggle world I don’t think so it will affect anything as long as we taken care of the fine / citation, based on what my lawyer told me he has many client cases which have speed ticket they just disclose them in citation question in 485 form and they got approved eventually. for your case I think it’s fine no worries. but i saw some case get denied because they did not disclose minor criminal / misdemeanor in the past and it flagged during background check hence lead to denial. for minor case like speed ticket as long as it’s paid it will be fine. but I got a feeling too @chah ks it is uscis clerical error, don’t panic and wait for the letter, you have chance to file motion to reopen the case and if it’s their mistake you will be approve eventually 🤞🏻

@chah ks sorry to hear this. hopefully it’s something easily fixable. I hope your company is still open to paying for lawyers. we’d all appreciate if you can update with the reason. Maybe Emma live agent can tell you now. Did you make any service requests to USCIS recently?

I went through the same thing last year :( in my case I was not elegible to adjust the status inside the US because before applying for a labor certification I had pending political asylum and they do not consider a pending asylum as a legal status. so I had to ask for a travel permit through my TPS, leave and re enter the country and apply again for the AOS which I’m doing right now. it’s frustrating, in my case appealing was not an option but I hope you can! I had to pay for the whole process again.. good luck!
