Green card approved today (05/30)!!! International travel planned next week
We are extremely happy that my husband’s (primary applicant) green card and mine appeared today as “Case was approved” in our USCIS account!! Our PD was Dec 22. Also, I have an international trip planned next week, flying on 06/05. I have my EAD/AP card that was going to use for traveling. As I’m not expecting to get the GC before the trip, do you know if there is any problem on using EAD/AP with a GC approved? thank you!!

Congratulations 🎊 @alipm pm! To your question, I am not sure of the answer.....but my guess will be that EAD/AP would be invalid once a GC becomes effective.

which layer did you hire?

You can't travel internationally with an EAD... It is just for Work purposes. Since your Greencard is approved, go to your local uscis branch with your passport and they will put a 751 stamps in it. With that you will be able to travel with no problem.

@BAYANO PARKER they have a combo card not just an EAD.

@BAYANO PARKER after consulting with my lawyer, he said that is totally safe to travel with AP and a copy of the approval notice. I will explain to the CBP officer and he will be able to check my case.

@alipm pm okay... I thought u only have EAD I didn't pay attention to the AP. Have a safe travel then. But my 1 cents to be just on a safe side is to go and get your passport stamps since you have an approved GC. It is to avoid you going from 1 inspection to another. Again.. that is my one cent since not all CBP officers are the same.

@BAYANO PARKER thanks for the advice, unfortunately the approval notice didn’t arrive yet and I’m traveling the day after tomorrow. my husband wi send me copies of the notice and the GC.

@alipm pm Go and get your passport stamped at your nearest local uscis office pliz.. IMMIGRATION IS NOT A JOKE. Or else, don't travel until you have your GC in hands
