Green Card Approved! Fairfax/Washington DC FO, Marriage Based AOS
Hi all!
I know how helpful it is to see people sharing their timelines while waiting, so here is mine:
Priority date: 4/9/21
Biometrics: 8/3/21 (in Philadelphia at the time)
EAD/AP combo card received late November
Interview scheduled: 3/8/22
Interview: 4/5/22 at the Fairfax office
New card being produced: 4/6/22

Thank you! I brought SO MUCH EVIDENCE with me and he looked at maybe 5 things 😅 My philosophy is that it's better to be overprepared than underprepared 😁 I brought a lot of updated documents since a lot had changed since we filed: we moved and both got new jobs so I brought all the docs related to that, some more recent bills, lots of photos, our tax returns, etc. In the end he looked mostly at the originals of what we had submitted with our original packet (passports, IDs, US citizen's birth certificate, divorce decree and SSN). He asked for my most recent I-94 because I had traveled outside the US since doing and also looked at my combo card. He also looked at our new lease, mostly to confirm the new address. He was quite friendly, at the end he said that he was intending to approve and that I should receive my green card in 3 to 4 weeks!

Nothing too tricky. He asked when and how we met, when we started dating, when we decided to get married, how much we spent on the wedding, asked if we knew each other's parents, we talked about where we live, he asked some questions about my previous marriage, if we had kids, we talked about the big wedding we're having in my home country, and he asked us about our jobs too. And then he asked some of the I-485 eligibility questions.

congratulations Oceane I am sorry to ask but what kind of questions did he ask you about the divorce because I am in the same situation I was curious if they do ask about precious marriages

Questions about first marriage: How long was the marriage, when did it end (looked at divorce decree here), was my first spouse a US citizen, did he file any immigration paperwork for me, did I have any reservations about getting married again after my first marriage didn't work out

We filed the I-130 and I-485 at the same time because my husband is a US citizen.
