@CP guy congrats, you’re almost done with this process.

@Jacob yes mine took 3 years, some people get their approval less than 3 years or more than that depending on those who are working on the case.

@CP guy you will probably do another one, you just have to go to the place where you did it they may issue another one but I will recommend you if you haven’t done your Covid vaccine to do it now because it takes time specially the Pfizer vaccine and it’s a mandatory to have it before proceeding with your case.

cool so just wait to see if they will request you another medical exam. I got 2 RFE after my approval a new birth certificate in August and then a medical exam in October because of the Covid vaccine I waited till November 1st to send them the medical exam.

@CP guy I see what you mean no no, whatever you get first you send them the reply they will give you the dead line anyways to reply so if you can reply as quick as you can.

just be patient @ CP I know how you feel when you know you’re almost ready to get your card but just be patient it should be out soon.

cp guy....I filled Dec 2018 . I got 4 prima facie and 3 EOD since then. the 3rd one had a category C31 on it and my status online changed to approval of VAWA . though my i485 has been transferred to another service centre

I received my c(31) ead, does that mean my vawa is approved, i got the ead on july but no approval letter. What does this mean. Also, can I marry now as my vawa is approved assuming c(31) implies vawa approved . Please

@Alex on that case you might need to talk to an immigration attorney to have more information about it because what I know if you get your C31 EAD that means your Vawa has been approved but why you didn’t get an approval letter I don’t know, does it mean without the approval letter your C31 EAD is not valid? I can’t answer it I’m sorry 😞 talk to a lawyer or call USCIS customer service to find out more, and let me know what they said please. thanks

@DD winner, what number should i call for uscic, it’s completely automated and they disconnect the call if i ask for uscis personal. its hard to get hold of them over phone.

I would suggest that you or your attorney write to Vermont requesting the approval notice before getting married. Just to be on the safe side, wait until you have the document in hand before doing anything.

@Alex based on what you said regarding your biometric and your medical exam, I think Vermont has already approved your Vawa and moved your case to your local uscis which means they are working now on your green card case so being in your shoes I won’t worried a lot about the Vawa approval letter since it can take some time for them to send the approval letter.

@DD Winner please, I wanted to ask you if it’s the same medical examination you used to filled your previous I-485 under I-130 that was used under your VAWA I-360 with a new I-485 just like previously fingerprints/biometric was re-used? I just got my VAWA I-360 filled since November, 2019 approved and card mailed to me was written EAD category C31 with 1 year duration on it, I thought VAWA will simply have approval date and not expiration date. Anyways, I filled for VAWA I-360 since November, 2019 got the acknowledgment receipt the same month and I got RFE on January 22, 2020 and then they received my RFE on February 3rd, 2020. So on July 2020 my previous fingerprint was reused and applied to it and final got approved on November 10, 2021 and card was produced as well mailed to within 8 days or received on November 18, 2021 but it says EAD category 31. Also, after filling for VAWA on November, 2019 then, I filled for I-485, I-765, I-131 on April, 2020 and I-485 changed since July 2020 that previous fingerprint applied and on October, 2020 I received a combo card based on I-765/I-131 which expired last month October 2021. I applied for renewal on both on September, 2021 and have got both acknowledgement receipts and current status shows fees waived on I-131 while I-765 fingerprints were taken. Please, my questions are 1: Do you think I will be required to perform another medical examination after my previous 2017 successful medical examination already sent to USCIS? 2: If you think I will be required to get a second medical then, do you think it’s wise for me to go ahead do it and send to Vermont Centre without them requesting it first? 3: Finally, I believe that, I may also got interview waiver too meanwhile, do I need to send the newly C31 with receipts of I-485, I-765, I-131 as a new update for the USCIS Vermont center to hasten my I-485 which is now over a year since I applied for it?

@Mr T 1 -> they might ask you (or not) a new one, according to the surgeon the medical exam is valid for 6 months that what he told me when I went back to do mine. on that point there’s nothing you can do till they send you a RFE stating they need a new medical exam so wait for it.

did you file your I360 all together with your I485??

I didn’t filled it together at ago but after filling the I-360 VAWA on November, 2019 then, I filled the new I-485 with the receipt of VAWA on April 2020. And I paid for the I-485 under VAWA about $1225 if I May remember and it was accepted under VAWA case…

When you did your medical exam, I know the Covid vaccine is required (exceptions permitted) did USCIS ask you about the booster or flu shot? I’m fully vaccinated, but I don’t want to take the booster & I’ve never gotten the flu shot before. Thanks for your help.

@Souza thanks, I did my medical exam in October 6th including the first Covid vaccine and I did the second one on 28th. I send everything on November 3rd and I received my GC on November 15th

yes that was my second medical exam, the only thing they said on their website was the Covid vaccine MUST be done by the alien applicant. so check their website for more updates

I did. I’ll look at it again, as I swear my eyes saw wording regarding the flu shot. My Vawa was approved 11/19 & I’m so eager for that GC. I know things don’t happen over night, but I’m just so eager to get that card in my hands (filed I485 in 2018). 😫

Mr T Francis ~ USCIS sends you a RFE for your medical exam. You don’t just go & do the medical exam on your own, as you never know when your GC will be ready to be approved. Just wait for the RFE. You don’t redo vaccinations. You would go back to the doctor who did your initial exam. They would simply write up a new exam & include your Covid vaccination information. If the info is different than what I’ve stated, I’m sure DD Winner will chime in. hth

@K P, thanks a lot Sister for your kind advice and it really makes sense going back to the Doc that, did the first medical examination to re-issue it if they requested for it again. Meanwhile, I just recall that, I actually went back to the same hospital last year February, 2020 or same time USCIS issued me RFE on my recently approved I-360 and got it with other more evidences that, I submitted which they accepted same early last year also, I have researched more info regarding the I-693(medical examination) which shows to have been updated to last for 4yrs due to Covid-19. Lastly, I don’t know if RFE on my recently approved I-360(VAWA) will be used on my I-485 or if they will need a separate evidence on it…?

Mr T Francis ~ I’m a woman 😳……..😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 But in all seriousness, yes it’s so much easier to go back to the dr who did your first exam….just make sure they’re still in business or haven’t moved. Mine did. Thankfully it’s still in my area. Now I’m not really following what you’re asking, what do you mean if the RFE on your recently approved Vawa will be used on your i485? Or will they need separate evidence? Every form has a separate RFE (if needed). So for example, if USCIS thinks that your i693 needs to be updated, it would send you a RFE for let’s say……proof of the Covid-19 vaccine. Regardless they’ll send you a breakdown of what they need from you.

Lol @K P, my bad😞 and have taken note about it my sister😁✌🏾 The hospital I believe is still available but not sure if they’re still performing medical examination and the particular Doc that, did the examination have relocated as they told me when I went there last year to get something else. I asked about RFE which you already provided the answer cos, my VAWA I-360 was not filled at same time with I-485. I filled the new I-485 under VAWA about six months after filling the I-360.

hello All again. today I received mail from local USCIS which says that i-693 is missing and to avoid delay, i should submit. it also say you may bring the medical with you for interview. they haven’t given the interview date. should i send the medical to local uscis or NBC center? or should i wait for interview mail. please.

you can send it to your local USCIS they probably put the address on the mail or if you want you can bring it to the interview too. it looks like you’re going for the interview. Mine said to mail it back before the deadline noted on the mail otherwise my case will be denied.

@dd winner the letter what i got is a formal letter or regular one I should say, nkt the typical one you get from Vermont green color one.. it didn’t give any deadline.. it says it is recommended you submit medical. the next line says you may bring it to the interview.

@Alex that’s what I’m saying your case has been moved to your local USCIS office and it’s not anymore with Vermont, they’re going to schedule you for an interview so at that point you can wait for your interview date and then go do your medical exam.

@Mr flex, I don’t know how long you should wait to get your interview invite, I did not go for the interview I received my GC after submitting my medical exam. all I know after your approval Vermont will send your case to NVC which will transfer it to your local USCIS and from there they will tell you what’s the next plan.

DD Winner.....my i485 had finger print applied to the case on January 25, 2019 while my case got transferred to another office September 8 2021. my question is..... 1. how long did it take for u to get ur GC after ur case was transferred to another office 2. how long did it take for u to get a biometrics letter from uscis after ur case was approved. I acknowledge the fact that all cases are different......but pls share with me so I can look up to something. thanks

Mr Flex 1-> I don’t know exactly when my case got transfered to my local USCIS, but I got 2 RFEs, one in August for updating my birthday certificate and October for my medical exam and finally November I got my GC. 2-> I did my biometric in July 2018 because I filed everything ( I360 + I485 + I765 + advance parole) in May 2018.

Krish90 ....u night be right . But u filed earlier than you did. yours was October 2018 ....while mine was December 2018. except that the name change you did,, might have been a setback to your application.

DD Winner....if like you said , u filed May 2018, and I filed same cases concurrently like u did.....that means u spend about 3 years and 6months to get ur GC in ur hands without u expediting the case in any way. Am I correct on this?

@krish I filed my Vawa in May 2018, two weeks later I got my receipt, On July 8, 2021, they approved my Form I-360 ( I received my C31 work permit in June and July the approval letter), my GC got delivered in November 15th.
