hello everybody I have some concern and some questions about my case if you could help me I'll be thankful
so I was on STEM OPT when I started working for one company later that company sponsored me and filed my i-140 i-131 i-485 and i-765 in December 2022 and February 2023 my i-140 was approved but in March 2023 the company was sold out to another owner and my case was pending on last week that means September 15th 2023 my work permit was approved so my question is how will this case will going to be process and as my work permit is approved is it compulsory to start working as soon as I get my work permit card or I can just not work and wait for my green card if I wait does it going to affect my green card process if I don't work I mean. and do I have to file supplement j? please help me out if anybody has any idea about it thank you

aspersions my understanding I was on the same page but with same company.. you should start working as you got work permit.
and you should be full time employment for the company who filed you until you get the
greencard. they are the one who sponsored you

If I understand correctly, You were working under Stem opt and that company sponsored you. Use your OPT until you can’t extend it, GC EAD is not mandatory to use. If you are worry about your sponsorship, you can maintain F-1 status by continuing school/opt. Since it has passed more than 180 days after 140 approval and I-485 pending more than 180 days as well, if company decided to stop, you can find other company but similar job and fild 485J. You do not have to do entire process. You have some kind of insurance (if you find other company)

@shah sultana company that sponsored me got sold out to different people and new owners change the company name too

you can switch to other after 180 days of I-485 pending application. to my knowledge

@EB1 A do you have any idea that the business that is sponsored me which was sold and has new owner if they want to continue my paper is it possible and if it is then how they can show the tax because this is their first year?
