Green Card & SSN - how long does it take?
My spouse came to US and it’s been 20+ days. When I tracked the Green Card online it says it’s being produced but for SSN I’m not able to track it.
I’m posting this question because a friend of mine who just came in Jan 2024 got SSN within 10 days but still waiting for GC.
But for my Spouse it’s been more than 3 weeks & haven’t received any. Is there anyone in similar situation. How long does it take to receive these.

you can go to the social security local office and ask for one with the greencard

@Moni D which state are you? I'm on the same situation I came to the US on December but I've not got my GC when I track it it says immigrant visa fee received.
just want to know if it has to be different from state to state..
but I did got my social security number within 10 days. and also how long before arriving did you pay for your GC?

@Ck Ck When I checked online it says “ You should receive your GC within 90 days of your entry into the US or within 90 days after your USCIS Immigrant fee payment is received.”
But I’m not sure which order will be considered. I’m from MD, which state are you in ? My concern is not receiving the SSN yet.
Also initially I too had the update for GC as “ We have received your USCIS payment for GC & we will be processing the production of your card”. But now I see the update as “your form is approved & ordered your card to be produced, we will mail it once it’s ready”.
I believe as long as you received your SSN you don’t have to worry, coz you will receive your card within 90 days as stated above.

@Moni D it's over 100 days of my entry to the US it still says immigrant visa fee received. I'm at CA , I called them they said I will get it before 120 days of my entry
