Great Christmas/New year gift
Finally done with this journey!
It was for sure a rollercoaster with RFEs for both the I-140 and I-485. Definitely more stressful for the latter.
Had to deal with a stubborn civil surgeon who messed up my form and refused to admit his fault and comply with the official RFE request. Ended up having to find a new one and pay again.
Lesson learned: always go with a trusted recommendation from a friend or others.
Also had to apply for OPT via premium processing simultaneously under a tight timeline.
Surprisingly, I-485 approval came just a few days after the OPT submission. OPT EAD also got approved that Sunday. Both cards arrived fast before Christmas via USPS Priority Mail. Glad it wasn’t much of a delay during the holiday season.

Could you please share more: What was the RFE about for your I-485 and which USCIS processing center? I submitted my RFE last week (haven't received any receipt yet) so curious about yours. My PD is April 3rd week, 2023, so waiting for FAD to move 🤞

thanks! my PD was 2/23/2023
sure my RFE in short was about birth certificate, missing vaccine (flu and chicken pox -varicella) and civil surgeon not filling the immunization record right (not annotate all rows as instructed).
it was sent to Miami center. My RFE were sent by UPS arrived one day before thanksgiving and the system updated on Black Friday so was fast for me surprisingly. different center like has vastly differently processing time. Yeah best luck hope you get their response soon!
