@tired from waitingg Hi, May I ask if there's a reason you haven't pursued a writ of mandamus? I honestly think it's something you should seriously consider. If you'd rather not hire a lawyer, here's a step-by-step guide from a Reddit VAWA applicant who filed the lawsuit himself and successfully got his case resolved: https://www.reddit.com/r/USCIS/comments/1ho0adh/stepbystep_guide_on_how_i_filed_a_writ_of/ Don't be afraid to fight for your rights. Speaking from my own experience, no matter how carefully I planned my life, it was incredibly difficult to move forward while my immigration case was pending. Things like building investments, buying a home, and even feeling secure in my job all felt like they were on hold. Living with that uncertainty is exhausting. I truly hope you consider taking that step. Wishing you the very best, and I hope you receive good news soon.

@Waiting Cat i agree, i think they should file mandamus as well. i am currently following the same guide to do the same. the waiting has me stressed and anxious all the time about the fact that our life is really on hold

@Waiting Cat I had this conversation with him months ago and he said he don’t mind waiting is because of people like him that uscis don’t give a shit anymore
Ivan bJul 26, 2026
come onnnnn - who was your attorney?
tired from waitinggJul 26, 2026
@Waiting Cat thank you for that I will look into it 🙏@David D It not that but work is busy dont really have time to do this myself but you are right hif everyone do mandamus it would be maybe faster I agree. @Ivan b I dont have a lawyer maybe thats why taking too long
tired from waitinggJul 26, 2026
@Man Man expedite reason tho what would be?
Ivan bJul 27, 2026
If I were you I wouldn’t spend even 1 more day and file mandamus first thing in the morning @tired from waitingg
tired from waitinggJul 27, 2026
@Ivan b but what if they will ask rfe I send them everything like literally court order doctor report bills etc everything i dont have nothing new that kinda backing me up too

David DJul 27, 2026
@tired from waitingg mandamus is to force them to make a decision if u already sent them everything they needed they will be forced to male a decision not to ask for more proves
Ivan bJul 27, 2026
Its better if they ask RFE it means your case is moving. If I were you I wouldn’t spend one more day when it’s out of normal processing time. obviously something is wrong with your case find an attorney doesn’t matter good or bad just ask 5-6 different ones tell them you will file mandamus and pay installment bro come on do not waste your time. I read many stories when they ask RFE people send exact same things. you can send them same things as well
Ivan bJul 27, 2026
I have a friend he recently filed mandamus in 3 months they approved his GC @tired from waitingg
Ivan bJul 27, 2026
I also read people file mandamus by themselves
Ivan bJul 27, 2026
I think USCIS is waiting for you to have an attorney and then they will approve your GC
tired from waitinggJul 27, 2026
@Ivan b thank you for answering me. I should really do mandamus actually i wonder if i can do both 360 and 485 same time
tired from waitinggJul 27, 2026

I got approved in January this year for EAD, travel permit and green card. have been waiting for EAD since so it's been 8 months already. Anyone went through Vawa process and might know how long it takes for a EAD card to get to my mail.? I also didn't need to do biometrics since I had a work permit before so they just transferred it (fingerprints).
Ivan bJul 27, 2026
if you got the approval for green card I don’t think they mail you EAD and AP? @ilija kovacevic you already have a green card?
ilija kovacevicJul 27, 2026
@Ivan b can't have a green card before I receive work permit in vawa process. no, I don't have a green card yet
tired from waitinggJul 27, 2026
@ilija kovacevic What u mean your green card approved and waiting EAD doesn’t make any sense im so confused if you have green card your technically done with processes.
ilija kovacevicJul 28, 2026
@tired from waitingg I sent I-131, I-485, I-765 all together for vawa and I got approved/3 diff recipes for each case. I am so confused why would you ask these questions, if you are in the process you should know that by applying for those three cases wich is travel, work permit and adjust of status , you are going to receive first EAD card lol. that's what I am saying I haven't gotten EAD card and I have filed these three cases last year on May 28th, since then I am waiting for EAD (work permit) of course waiting on travel permit and green card later on but first I gotta get EAD. hope you get it now :) and to add I got approved in January this year meaning I got my reciepts to follow my cases.
tired from waitinggJul 28, 2026
@ilija kovacevic lol look what you said previously you said “I got approved in January this year for EAD, trabel permit and green card” if you approved green card you don’t need no EAD no travel permit you have green card 😅
