GC ead renewal
I am filling my GC EAD extension application based on a pending i485. my f1 visa expires on April 2023.
I am confused about what to answer to the the question on the form
“what is your current immigration status or category”
any help would be appreciated.

I believe the EAD is not a status but a benefit. so your current immigration status is F1.

If your visa expired April 2023 I believe you are pending AOS

you are no longer on F1 status since it’s expired, your current status is pending I485, which is also referred as lawfully presence but being out of status
