FTA0 updates
my 485 is pending ( filed in Apr 2022) and it’s current from Apr 2026
received code 3 and code 5 biometric appointment for my son and me respectively 2 weeks back and completed the biometrics
in parallel, my sons EAD renewal ( filed in Aug 2025) is in process. I saw 3 FTA0 updates on son EAD after completing 485 biometric
does that mean there is moment on 485 apps ? and anyone had similar situation… please share your thoughts

FTA0/API updates are not official USCIS status updates, so I would not rely on them too heavily. Because your son’s EAD renewal is pending, those FTA0 updates may relate to the EAD, biometrics being applied, or internal case movement. It does not necessarily mean the I-485 is about to be approved. The real indicators are official case status, RFE, transfer notice, interview notice, approval, or card production.
