From interview scheduled to case is still being processed; N-400
Has anyone experienced this before? I have both I-751 and N400 interview combo scheduled for next month. This morning got the "we've taken action on your case" text, rushed to check online and only my N400 was updated/downgraded from "interview scheduled" to "case still processing".
Kindly advise if anyone has had something similar and what it means. This process creates so much anxiety with no definite answers till final decision is made.
Keep the Faith you all!

@Alena L hundred percent agreed! That was it without a doubt, wow! Makes so much sense now. Also, seems like there is a silver lining in the clouds from reading the part where officers have been told that resubmission of data checks are not necessary if they intend to deny, in our case I view it with a positive approach and rightful progress. I'll keep you posted if anything changes from my end and you do the same! Good Luck Alena! I'll be back here to let you know how interview will go 3weeks from now. Keep the Faith!

do you have go go with your spouse for the combo interview?
Andrew munyuaMay 6, 2026
The interview notice states spouse MUST accompany.

This is usually a system/status glitch unless you receive a cancellation notice. If your interview notice is still valid and not canceled, attend the interview with your spouse and full I-751/N-400 evidence. Bring the interview notice, green card/extension letter, passports, joint evidence, tax transcripts, and updated marriage evidence. If USCIS actually cancels, they will usually issue a notice.

@Alena L Congratulations! Wonderful News, so happy to hear that! How long was it did they ask lots of questions? Was your spouse in with you? I'm on next week a bit anxious but I'm keeping the Faith this immigration journey will end well.
Again, Congratulations to you and your family @Alena L and thank you for sharing!

@Alena L What questions were you asked during your I-751 interview, and was it conducted in English or Spanish? Did they ask you for definitions during the N-400 interview? Thanks!

@Alena L went pretty smooth than I had anticipated. On the N400 they needed me to submit proof of child support for my kids from other marriage, I had submitted it with my initial application but the interviewer requested for current evidence prior to them making a decision. I did submit everything online yesterday awaiting to hear back from them not sure how long of a wait it'll be. Other than that everything went smooth, passed the tests and signed some forms to verify my demographics so hopefully once they review the RFE I'll get to hear back from them with some good news.
Anyone else who might be reading this and are preparing for the interview, don't overlook anything to support your case, I overlooked child support documents since I had submitted with my initial packet and they asked for it which I had everything on my phone but they needed mailed or submitted online. So, take with you as much as you can think of to support your case and good luck.
@Alena L Congratulations again!

@Andrew munyua Did they ask you many questions about the I-751?
Andrew munyuaMay 23, 2026
@yaely t no, was just to countercheck there records mostly demographics. she had to update my current work wasn't updated in their system only questions for my spouse was where she currently works and if we how long we have lived at our home, then she was asked to sit quietly to the side for my N400 session. All supporting documents I had brought were scanned while interview was ongoing then everything was handed back to me. No out of the ordinary questions.
