You are extremely lucky. Are you employment based? I filed Oct 5, 2021 and still waiting at Texas SC

The only reason new applications are being processed quicker is to keep their processing averages down, I am in month 13 and many others are. They would be better processing those that have been waiting over a year and are out of work, but that would hurt their statistics.
It's actually ridiculous, I'd be quicker filing again.

i just got my EAD approved but haven’t done biometrics for my AP - did you?

Oh, Texas started to move a few weeks ago. I don’t know how we should feel better with your announcement because I’ve been waiting for my EAD since Dec 2020, and people are still waiting from October 2020. Congrats! You are extremely lucky, but please spare us the praise of the Texas center; lots of people are suffering here because of their backlog and nonsense approvals.
