for tax returns
Tried to do my taxes last night and after marking married they asked for her SSN. Since she doesn’t have one can I just choose single? And if I choose single will that hurt my petition down the road?

She needs to apply for the itin number, if it is the first time it will take time to process, but it is necessary that, go to a tax preparer to help you, last year we did the taxes with my husband (I do not have my social security still) and you have to fill out form 1040

if you’re married you should not tick saying you’re single that will definitely hurt you. it’s either married or married filing separately but not single. since your filing taxes and don’t have a social security number you need an ITIN number
