kat .Apr 12, 2024
that’s what I said, I’m overwhelmed with emotion right now… after making inquiries to congress and four legal organizations, somehow the persistence paid off… I was one step away from mandamus… lucky I held off until all options exhausted

you must have your attorney reach out for you because they are attorney privvy avenues - ASISTA and AILA I also did a D.C. congressional inquiry, contacted the WASHINGTON D.C uscis community relations office, my attorney directly attempted to contact the D.C. field office director, and did monthly uscis info pass inquiries.

Congratulations!!!! Imagine waiting over 1 yr for 485 interview/approval. This is crazy to be honest. Some are getting approved 2,3 months after vawa. Honestly, no one can beat these people to their game
kat .Apr 12, 2024
@F A I was 9mths over processing time. Now comes the hard part again…. waiting. it can take up to 6-10mths to schedule appointments, and is solely dependent on backlogs at the field office you are sent to. I could get the next notice in the mail within a few weeks, but we’ll have to see ā€œinterview schedulingā€ means that uscis have reviewed your case and have no further questions (aka RFE)… the waiver for interviews for vawa applicants is not guaranteed.
F AApr 12, 2024
@kat . OMG!!!! I thought that it means interview has been scheduled. Wow!!! yeah people are called for interview lately, don’t know why
kat .Apr 12, 2024
@F A I have no idea… all I know is that I was actively pushing for response from uscis from various organizations to help. every case is different. but it pays to google the meaning of each status update on cases, because this app doesn’t always accurately reflect on the definition of each status or procedure/time the next update I should get is - ā€œinterview scheduledā€ hopefully I receive word within a month. At least that’s my estimate šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

kat .Apr 13, 2024
@KR Chic my vawa was approved June 7th 2022…I’ve only gotten response for interview for i485 (9mth outside processing time) today. you may be well within processing time, I’m not sure, every case is different… but you should inquire, or have your attorney do the work for you (best option is attorney)

KR ChicApr 13, 2024
how do you know how long you are out of processing time ? and this part with interview I didn’t get . . what that means what you got update ? thank you . regards @kat .
kat .Apr 13, 2024
@KR Chic after vawa is approved, and reviewed, your case is transferred to a local uscis field office near you. (note: all inquiries are still with Vermont)… once your case is transferred that field office also has backlog/processing times…. for me I’m in DC so my projected processing time was 24mths from the time of initial date of submission (21st May 2021)… count 24mths from the above date and you get over processing times…. those times vary in very state, but the uscis website can tell you. ie. input i485 > family based case > local field office (not Vermont)… you will get the actual processing time. you NEED to know the office you’re going to, to obtain that info. remember that it’s an estimate, and uscis are under no obligation to stick to all timeframes - case by case determinations are set. this website (outdated) but check out the info so that you can discern time lengths for yourself or at least a rough estimate the backlog at the field office + active case current determines your placement in the interview scheduling queue. all I will say presently for my case is that; I’m in queue to be scheduled for and interview and the date is TBA (unknown) https://www.immigrationplanner.com/i485-uscis-processing-times/

@kat . I hope you get scheduled soon. Wish you all the best
kat .Apr 13, 2024
