FINALLY GOT MY GREEN CARD 🎉
it’s been a long time coming but the time is finally here 🥹 I know so many other immigrants who’s cases take longer but I was told, in my case, that it would take less than 10 months & it took 13 months, so these last 3 months were torture… I also received an RFE at the end of October that asked me to send in all my documents again 🙄 so we had all them ready and sent them in & a week later, I was approved for my green card!!

@MUKHAMMAD AZIZ OSMANZHANOV I was approved with no interview, so once I get my green card, I’m officially a permanent resident!! I am going to travel home for a month to see my family that I haven’t seen in 2.5 years :)

@MUKHAMMAD AZIZ OSMANZHANOV it’s all good! I’m in Charleston, SC but I’m originally from Canada! I entered the U.S. on a student visa and then got married so I only had to do an adjustment of status and I didn’t have to get a fiance visa or anything. the I-485 form is an “Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status” so that’s because I entered on a student visa originally and was able to stay in the U.S. while I waited for my I-485 & I-130 to be approved

@francisco avelar thank you! for the most recent RFE, they requested our marriage license & I-130 form again & then they requested additional supporting evidence from the day we got married (April 2022) until the present day (which was beginning of December). All that we sent in were our shared bank account, health insurance we have together, & I bought a new car and both of us are on the title. my lawyer said they don’t really care about pictures or affidavits so we didn’t send any of that in for the RFE but we did originally

@Irani Y.P I haven’t received my card yet! it was only produced yesterday and I’m assuming with the holidays that it’s going to take a little longer than normal. it is also getting mailed to my lawyers and then I’ll have to go pick it up

yes, definitely will take time, mine was produced on Dec 13th and I guess I will have mine next week.
