congrats @T R . your lawyer should tell you everything you would need to take before the appointment. you would need original documents of everything. also physical copies of photos and conversations you’ve had with your spouse

I would take everything you have provided to USCIS & NVC from start to finish. that is what we did and we had no issues. if they are looking for specific things it should be noted in the interview letter.

to answer your other question, it took us 3-4 months after DQ to get IL.. and we were approved to expedite the IL date so can be even longer then that..

@T R Congratulations. I’m from Sri Lanka as well. I’m a LPR in the USA and I have some questions about your husband's citizenship. How long after becoming an LPR did your husband apply for citizenship? Did he apply through the online process? I may have further questions, but I would greatly appreciate if you could answer the above ones. If you can share your contact information, I can reach out to you that way because my wife is also in Sri Lanka, and being separated is very difficult. Based on my experience with the SL embassy, make sure to organize your file properly and bring all the documents to the interview. Especially the DQ documents and the sponsor's documents such as W2 related to taxes. Also, bring relevant documents to prove your marriage, such as photos and marriage certificate. In addition, bring all the documents you have in your file because having more documents won't cause any problems. Make copies of every document you submitted to USCIS and NVC and bring them with you. If the consultant asks for documents, you can easily retrieve them from your file and provide them. Don't panic or stress because it's more important. Good luck with the interview!
