Finally! God is Good!
I never thought this would be our reality. Back in June 2022, I submitted a petition through the EB2-NIW pathway. By October, our I-140 was approved, and we submitted our I-485 and I-131 applications in November. We went for biometrics in December, and then it was just silence. I called repeatedly, but there were no updates, and with the new May bulletin, I had lost all hope. Our final action date was 16 days away from becoming non-current, and we knew our application would become pending.
So, on April 11, 2023, we decided to submit our I-765 application. That was when I stumbled upon a forum post asking if one could beg USCIS to process their application before it became stuck in a retrogressed date. I decided to send a message via my online account, pleading with USCIS to process our application before the end of the month. I was hoping for a miracle, but I didn't expect what happened next.
Within three days of submitting our I-765, it was approved, and to my surprise, our I-131 was also approved earlier this week. When I had sent my message to USCIS, I mentioned that we wanted to visit our family, and I thought that might have influenced the decision on the I-131 application. But realistically, I wasn't expecting anything on our I-485 until October 2023, which is the beginning of the fiscal year for USCIS.
So, you can imagine my shock when I received a notification on the app on Friday evening that our new card was being produced. It's been a long and stressful journey, but I'm grateful for this outcome.
I am grateful to God for His faithfulness. I am also grateful to this community for the suggestions and tips.
Wishing everyone success in their journey!
