Filled I30 when I was a LPR
Hi community, I would like to share a little bit of my process.
on May 5th, 2022 I filled out the I30 for my husband that is abroad (Ecuador) I filled as an LPR (permanent resident). My case was taken by Vermont Center and the processing time was 37 months. A long wait, but on September 2022 I applied for the N400 to become a U.S. citizen so I can expedite my case. o June 1st, 2023 I finally became a U.S. citizen. I sent my naturalization certificate to the lawyer so they can send it to USCIS, however, a week later they didn’t send it. I rather call USCIS and ask if they can change the category of my case. they did it online, I just needed to submit my certificate to the USCIS account. I submitted Friday the 9th in the afternoon and the same day at night I check the status and it said “Your case has been actively reviewed” On June the 12th my case was finally approved. A bit of advice is if you are in the same boat as me please become a U.S. citizen fast so your case will be processed faster. Now I will wait for my case to be sent to the NVC. I don’t know how long is the process after I30 is approved. if anybody knows please let me know.
