Ken Mike , if you are a US citizen applying for Adjustement of status to your spouse who is also in United states, then you can file both I-130 and I-485 together (concurrently) along with other forms and if she is in foreign country then you just file I-130 for now.

@ken Mike: if you are filing for both i-130 and i-485, also include the following attachments for the i-485 (forms i-864 and forms i-944) that way you won't be getting any RFE's as that's the reason why most cases are delayed. submit the i-864 and i-944 together with your i-485 (and i-130 if applicable)
