filing for a child
asking for a friend , if his child is already in the US and he’s a PR and he wants to file for his child does the child have to go back to his home country

Depending on the category of the child. if the child is under 21 most likely they won't have to leave once they're adjusting status.. If the child is over 21 then more than likely they would have to leave and adjust status in their home country unless they're eligible for 245(i) protection Also, if the child is present in the U.S without inspection, then that child must leave the country apply for GC

if the child is a minor then no, it’s not difficult to adjust status of minors . I just did my son and he was out of status and it didn’t matter. he got his 10 yrs without interview the process too a 1 yr. minor got 10 yr before parent.

@Julio the child is okay to adjust status without leaving, it's more so for the adult child to leave but not babies/minors
