file protected
Hello everybody, does anyone know if the uscis agent says that your file is protected and we cannot access any further information on your case. what does this means? I called them to expedite my case and they told me to write a letter to Vermont service center coz they couldn’t access my file in their system as it is protected.

I’m assuming it’s a vawa case so guess naturally due to the nature of your application they keep that stuff protected.

I’m not sure if you worked with a lawyer or not, but it might be that you submitted a file protected with a passwword. Would that be possible? Did you submit anything to them electronically?

no, it’s a paper file but my receipt number is IOE and i had lawyer filed my u visa case back in 2016 and no update on it. my current file is marriage base with US Citizen and I file it without lawyer.

Thanks @katalina, @ J A and @Vee. but my file is marriage base green card that I’m inquiring about, u visa file is my separate file.
i have 2 file going on pending
1st - u visa pending since 2016 August filed by lawyer
2nd - US Citizen filling for spouse July 2021 filed by me.
I’m inquiring about 2nd. which is not related to my 1st.

i am in the same boat like you , have pending u visa filling recently AOS marriage based to us citizen did you get any updates?! it seems the u visa application affect the AOS , when i call they didn’t access to my information? please tell me if you heared any updates
