@Alliah Thamas I have submitted multiple inquiries and this is their response The National Visa Center (NVC) has received your petition from U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services. Your NVC case number is LNDXXXXXXXXXX. Due to your petition type, you will not receive a request for fee payment or document submission. All case parties will be notified when this petition is forwarded to the assigned U.S. Embassy/Consulate General. It’s been over two months, they have been saying this same thing

use the case number in their reply to check the case status on ceac website. if it shows ready, it means it has gotten to the embassy.

i came to us on this valentines on k1 visa! if you have received the NVC case number JUST GO AND FILE DS160 ASAP! i wasted my 2.5 months to wait for the welcome letter. just mail them to inquire about your invoice number. Thats what i did! when you file ds160, book appointment for the interview they will ask you to put ds260 no and you have to put ds160 confirmation no in that box. then you will be able to book the appointment. i paid around $180 for the appointment. medical exam fees is seperate. and vaccination cost would vary in your medical exam.

you have to schedule the medical exam with the approved panel physician but before that you have to check for the approved panel physician or hospital for your country,all the info you can find on ceac wbsite.

@Sandeep Kathuria thanks I am on the website. one more question. At what point did your application move from "At NVC" to "In Transit" to "Ready?"

my application was accepted on aug-01-2022 and it was ready on oct-03-2022. so we can say it take 60days. The same amount of time has already been spent, so it should be ready by this week hopefully!

you don’t need the beneficiary id to file ds160. DS160 is a basic form for non immigrant visas which includes details about yourself and your background. @Epris Richardson she mentioned the link up there k1 step by step.

mine was approved on jan 17 2024 and nvc received on feb 09 and forwarded straight to the embassy. embassy emailed my benificiary right away by asking to file ds160, schedule a medical exam, prepare all documents then create an account pay fee and schedule an interview appt. we did all and she heard an appt on Aptil 05 2024. the interview went well but the officer did not say approved or rejected. it seemed he approved thou coz he told her to wait a week to receive an email from them on where and when to pick up her visa. hopefully that helps.

@Elevated Son You should be getting a response very soon. We just got an update today stating our case is In Transit and our timeframe was just a couple days earlier than you

@Alliah Thamas yes you can but make sure you print out the confirmation page. they will send you an email requesting to send that Confirmation to them. also try to make medical exam appointment since it will delay your process and they will not give you an early appointment. you can go to the embassy website and search the verified panel physician. wish you success.

@Elevated Son that’s awesome! mine is still ready and it keeps on updating every 5 days but still ready. It’s now 21 days simce we did our interview.

@Abdi O how was the interview like? what type of questions did they ask? and why haven’t you gotten a feedback yet?

@Elevated Son they only asked about 4 easy questions and said we will mail you when and where to pick up your passport with visa.

they said in a week and it’s been 3 weeks now and the status keeps on saying ready every update.

@Abdi O that means you have been approved. some times it takes about a month to get the passport

My K1 got approved 5/14/2024 then the status was changed to Case Sent to dept of State on 05/17. 05/31 - 1st public inquiry - 6/3 - Per NVC’s email - Approval letter Not yet received 06/5 - 2nd public inquiry - 06/7- Recv’d an email response from NVC & Case Number was provided to me but no Invoice number yet. I’m still waiting for my NVC Welcome letter.

k1 Visa Help(11months and counting ) hey everyone!!! my case is taking longer than expected is anyone also experiencing this? it’s showing my case has been sent to department of state for over two months now and nothing yet from them,the notice letter that was received already expired and it’ll be a year next month since we filed my fiancé sent a mail but they sent just the NVC case number and they said due to our petition,there won’t be any fee to be paid or documents to be submitted I wonder why it’s taking long please help,thank you in advance
