fiancé visa question
I, petitioner, applied to Fiance Visa 260 days ago. I have pro analysis and 3 months ago I was 94th in line, it seems that everyday I keep moving up. today I’m 109th out of 240 in line? can you pls explain why I keep moving back in line as new people get added? I applied in April, shouldn’t my place in line keep going down as time passes? why do new people who recently applied move ahead of my application? thank you in advance :) also for any of you in the same situation, would you have applied for spouse visa instead of K1? my lawyer recommended fiancé over spouse visa since it was “faster”. also my fiancé resides in Italy. also sorry for writing an essay here. thanks a lot for reading! #fiancevisa #k1 #k-1 #fiance #i129f

IDK. I tried to understand myself? But how can the information be accurate if the only case on this website is for those who signed up. I saw out case get pushed back so much I just did away with it. It caused more confusion and frustration than anything. I wish you the best if you can get an answer.

if I’m in a huge line let’s say in Walmart. I’m the 99th in line and the line has a total of 200 people. when a new person comes with his cart at the end of the line; then I still should be 99th in line out of 201 people in line; not 100th out of 201 as shown in lawfully. anyway, maybe things are more complicated than my example since cases get transferred over and some cases cut in line due to expedited requests and etc.

I think that's because a person that is already in front of you sign up in lawfully. it happens to me too and I was thinking about it and that is the most logical reason

also my lawyer recommended fiancé over married. she said that fiancé is faster for him to arrived to the country. married is faster with the papers (green card, ssn etc) but he has to wait in his country for all that paperwork

Unfortunately YF you should hear from them around August 2023, current waiting time is 15.5 months. About queue on Lawfully... it is a guess work, system calculates it on avarage compare to previous years. Since COVID everything changed. It will take a long time for the 'avarage' calculations to match real time data. Lawfully still states that 65% application is completed withing 347 days which is totally wrong. Stay strong and positive, thats all we have left to do

@eddy k shouldn’t that 15.5 months processing time apply to people who would apply right now? because when I applied it was showing 8 months.
Y FDec 23, 2022
if you think about it the processing time is increasing each month. so let’s say it’s August 2023 and USCIS processing time for K-1 shows 23 months; that would not apply to me since I’ve waiting 15.5 months already

no, backlog is huge, people are getting accepted after 15-16 months at the moment. I am 420 days after submitting the application

nobody can estimate how long you will wait when you submit. it is all guess work. currently it is over a year. sad but true

I see. I appreciate your response a lot. may I ask which country is your benefiary from? or if you’re the beneficiary, which country are you in? @eddy k

I'm in the United Kingdom.
Y FDec 24, 2022
gotcha. is there any statistic which shows approval time by country? @eddy k

country doesn't matter at this point. it is all to do with uscis. later on when u have to book embassy appointment it may depend on the country how quickly u can get done
Y FDec 25, 2022
@eddy k thank you a lot. you seem very knowledgeable. do you know if that 15.5 month processing time includes beginning till the interview date? or is that just the first approval notice? thank you
e
eddy kDec 25, 2022
it is only for the first approval ☹️
