federal tax
hello I have question…I’m pending i130 and i485 obtain work permit and SS but on my W2 I realize I have no fed witheld tax is this normal I also have a child who I don’t claim as a dependent as I jus obtained this job abt 7 months when I got my WP…… how do I file tax with spouse jointly?

With no Federal tax withheld you might owe back taxes from that, and for married filing jointly, you just tell the person that's how you want to file. You should also be able to add that on your W4 when you applied.

same as mine
fed withholding was 0
so I did additional tax withholding.

@God will speak my husband said he file for me as a dependent as I don’t make enough and that what the HR told me I don’t make enough for the automatic deduction but I can do like what you did do additional tax withholding whether or not I make enough…. thank you for your input I really appreciate this platform
