I received FAFSA loan approval with EAD applicant but my university can’t apply the loan to my school account without proof of USA citizenship or green card

@Nothing Pass God I have the same problem, currently they need a proof even with the prima facie. I’m still waiting for them to see what they will come up with

@restoration 2021 yes, 100%. I am in Law School, and I took already around 75K in loan for tuition, so definitely yes. @Nothing Pass God you can complain to Department of Education if school says you’re not eligible and you are eligible

so u can't get approved with an approved vawa for fafsa, only the prima facie will get u fafsa and since the case is approved u don't get prima facie anymore. now u need a GC to qualify for fafsa. I'm having the same issue, so I will try and expedite my i485.

@Shari that’s absolutely not true. you’re eligible for fafsa with an approved VAWA. If your school tell you something else, like I said you can complain to Department Education. I am 100% sure. People in financial aid departments usually didn’t have nothing to do with VAWA before and they don’t know how to handle it (some of them)

With Approval VAWA, makes you more eligible than Prima Facie

once you have a social card you can get FASFA….i don’t have my greencard yet but got my work permit and social and now am in nursing school about to start next week.

@cy 🎁😘🎁 God I don’t know I can log complain to the department of education. This is why it’s good to have a lawyer in the family. lol . Thank God I was able to payout of pocket and I am done with my Masters program. Advise for those holding a bachelor degree, do you know you an enroll for a PHD program without having a Masters Degree and it’s fully sponsor by most universities. This enables toskip student loan for master program.

@survivor p the fafsa process is done and was approved, however in order for your school to make payments they check with uscis to verify whatever document you provided, within approved vawa uscis will reply you are not eligible for public benefit. that's a fact, unless you get it by complaining to DOE well I have to see about that

I think this depends on the State you are. With my own experiences I got through I apply the FASFA and the school didn’t approve it, what they informed me is to get a GC first. I am based in Florida and I believe the Prima Facie in Florida has nothing to do with education assistance unless maybe Driving License. If any one go through with FASFA in Florida please advise because I am still struggling too🙏

@Shari I am sorry, but you’re totally wrong. how you can be eligible for fafsa with Prima facie, and are not eligible with approved VAWA??? lol And yes, I have approved VAWA and I received loan for fall term without any issus. @Gina Miller that’s federal aid, so doesn’t depend from state law at all

@survivor p a loan is different from fafsa, u pay back a loan you don't pay back fafsa.

all I'm saying is a loan is different, only receive fafsa which i even got back refunder every semester, now the fact my vawa is approved i no longer receive that however if I want a loan which I have to repay when I finish school that's different, that's all I'm saying dear.

I didn’t get fafsa my greencard not even approved yet. am paying out of pocket for school
