wait till the last moment. i did an opt out provision under a section (forgot the name - but you can google it.) earlier F1 was faster, but just few months before my PD F2B became faster.

@K h So I just call USCIS to tell them to keep my case as F2B?

the case won’t automatically be upgraded to citizen from what I have read you need to inform them. I have no idea about which category is faster though

currebt action date is 2017. you still have a year or two. you can see which one is moving and take a call accordingly

Your category does not automatically change to f1 when petitioner becomes a citizen. You have to send request to uscis to change to f1 that’s what the officer told me at my 485 interview that you don’t need to do anything just stay in f2b if you don’t wish to change. Also unless uscis doesn’t provide you a written notice stating your category has been changed then it’s not official that the change has been made.

if you have any son don’t move to F1 then if you don’t have sons, move to F1.
