F2B Moving
Hi everyone,
My mom is currently a LPR and has been filing I130 for me since 2020. I am now an international student and I'm on my OPT.
I am planning on go back to my country because I got desperated waiting miserably, also I cannot see myself continuing study for another degree. My question is, if I moved back to my country to continue waiting, will the waiting time most likely be the same as I continue to stay and study?
Also online the address on file is the address of the petitioner, if I moved, do I have to notify Uscis?
Every advice is highly appreciated. Thank you🙏🏻

you are definitely gonna wait longer if you leave the U.S. you can check Visa Bulletin compare two tables of F2B category. but you have to maintain legal status in the U.S. all the time to be able to file under “ Date of filling” date. My priority date is 2017/11/06, and 7 years later I’m still waiting in the U.S... just give you an idea..
if your address has changed since 2020, you have to notify USCIS or let your lawyer know.

@Miranda L I am still in the US. My PD is May 2020. I am planning to move back to my country next year. So i dont know should I update the foreign address to Uscis. Plus the Visa bulletin just got to 2016 2017 or something. I dont want to keep studying for 5 or 6 more year not knowing to wait until when :(

@Michelle B I think if you move back, you should keep mailing address as your mom’s US address so she is able to receive any possible letter in the future.
but consult with lawyer to be sure
