was your I-30 approved before updating your spouse category

I’m asking because my I-130 was approved last year. and my spouse recently became a citizen

I have no idea where to mail the oat certificate

I spoke with uscis agent, she said to make an enquiry to NVC

how did you go about it

my spouse and I are both in usa

hi @H S Did they updated on app that they receive your paperwork and updated your case LPR to IR1?

I am asking you because we send our papers 2 months before and they didn’t updated yet so we are still confuse about updating @H S

@Bella kok yes my i130 was approved last year in june. my case was at nbc so my lawyer sent docs there. your case must be at nbc not nvc since u both are here.

@pooja fnu i uploaded docs(citizenship certificate, and letters requesting upgrade) on my portal and sent same docs to nbc 2 times as my case was there, but no action as i called uscis and agents always said its still f2a. i waited since aug 2023 till feb 2024. then my lawyer called uscis to upgarde case in march first week and my case was approved later and i got card on 1 april

@pooja fnu no u dont get any notification or updates about upgrade but results directly. but sometimes you can see some case request numbers under same application on another uscis case tracker app. but to know request results yiu have to call usics. I think a call by lawyer really helps. if you have one then ask them to call.

@H S my case is at the field office. is that where I send the required document?

@H S did you upload documents to the petitioner or applicant’s portal?

where do you check that it wasn’t updated because I’m in the same boat we send the naturalization papers as long with the i485 form 17 months ago and nothing had happened in the case?

@Bella kok i think its gonna be field office then and i uploaded to my (petitioner) portal.

@Cat ge i called uscis, from where i came to know its still f2a
